ANTIOCH - More theft and damage at a car dealership occurred recently, as thieves become increasingly more confident across the US. Antioch PD mentioned their investigation into two separate car thefts. The first instance revealed a Ford F-350 was stolen at 7:00 am, as well as an unsuccessful attempt to steal a second vehicle.
The thieves showed up a couple of days later, this time at 2:00 am, attempting to steal more vehicles. In the process, the suspects rammed another vehicle, trying to access luxury vehicles. Across the street, the thieves traveled to the CDJR store, looking for more to steal. The events ended with the suspects fleeing, and officers ending the pursuit due to safety reasons. The Ford dealership is still reviewing its inventory and what vehicles were stolen.
As we’ve seen over the last 12 months, car thefts, damage, and stolen parts have become an increasingly bigger problem for dealerships, service centers, and more. A lot of this starts with controlling the key, to reduce the liability a business faces. If your business doesn’t currently have a key management system, it may be worth the investment to help avoid instances like this. If your keys are on a wooden board, in a filing cabinet, or generally exposed to the public, there are increased risks to this. The KeyMaster series is built to not only secure your keys but also improve your process.
