NEWARK - Police in New Jersey report vehicle thefts are on the rise, up 15% compared to last year. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. At a local Newark dealership, a handful of thieves cut a heavy-duty chain, broke into the store, accessed the keys, and left with six vehicles. Some of the vehicles stolen included a Mercedes Benz, BMWs, and an Audi.
According to the video by ABC7NY, this is the second theft this dealership experienced. In a separate theft in June, a different dealership owner describes thieves stealing a safe with the keys and leaving with eight vehicles, in five hours.
